The Cannonball Loop Ride
A great ride that will take you through the heart of Fitchburg is the Cannonball/Arboretum loop, a 10-mile ride that takes bikers along the Cannonball Path, through the UW Arboretum and along the Capital City Trail. There are lots of great stops along the route, including the Dawley Bike Hub and the Velo Underround, a bike roundabout, a two-level interchange among five regional trails. The roundabout is the convergence of the Capital City State Trail, the Southwest Commuter Trail, Cannonball Path and Military Ridge Path and the Badger State Trail running overhead.
Riders have great options to stop for coffee, drinks, food and snacks along the way, including Tapatios, a local favorite for authentic tacos, and The Thirsty Goat, a great place for a beer and barbecue. *This ride requires a trail pass for the Capital City Trail.
