McKee Farms Park, located in the heart of Fitchburg, is one of the city's most popular destinations for events, outdoor adventures, and family activities. The park's lush greenery includes 5 acres of tall turf grass and portions of the park facilitate storm water drainage, including four detention ponds, two waterways, and a green way. The Park is easily accessible by the Capital City Bike Trail and has two parking areas.

The Park has plenty of spaces for kids to explore and play, including the Kids Crossing Dream Playground, and an inclusive playground for all abilities, 2 softball diamonds, seven soccer fields, one full-court basketball, and an area for seasonal ice skating. The park is also home to six lighted tennis courts that were recently updated in 2024!
Bcycle stations are located at the north and south side of the park, with ebikes available for rent. There are pedestrian/bike paths running through the park that are excellent for exploring by foot or by bike. Stop by and see the Bike the 'Burg Bucky, too!
For those looking to test their mettle, the Fitcore Extreme Fitness Equipment promotes whole body fitness and agility with options for users of varied fitness and skill levels. The equipment is recommended for teens and adults ages 13+ and is a fun way to create your very own American Ninja Warrior workout! The course was donated by Inventure Capital in 2024.
Fitchburg’s Splash Pad is a free, fun, and family-oriented attraction where water is rained, sprayed, poured, and dumped from play features. The Pad has zero depth, so there’s no standing water to worry parents with smaller children. This wet and wonderful playground is fully accessible and safe for all ages and abilities. There are three zones, all with different features:
- Toddler—with soft mists and gentle streams;
- Pre-teens—with high-energy, team-building activities
- Families—with dumping buckets, water tunnels and lots of good, clean fun. This is a recirculation splash pad that recycles the water to conserve water resources and make it more energy efficient.
The Splash Pad is open to the public Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend.
Due to its central location and easy access by car or bike, McKee Farms Park has become home to some of the area's most popular events, including Kids Building Wisconsin, Festa Italia, Concerts at McKee, and many others. If you're looking to plan an event in the area, the shelter can be reserved for public and private events through the cities website. Click here for more information.
