Agora Art Fair
It’s all-senses-go at Fitchburg's Agora Art Fair! On the beautiful grounds of Agora – Greek for “gathering space” – visitors are treated to tents of fine art, elaborate kites (look up and you might see huge galloping horses), the smell of local foods, taste of craft beer and wine, and live music. In 2008, the first fair hosted 50 artists and 5,000 people. It’s grown to 100 artists and 15,000 eager visitors.
Wisconsin artists sell paintings, ceramics, jewelry, photography, glass and metal work, graphic arts, sculptures and more. If you get a creative itch, join hands-on experiences and walk away with a personal piece. Kids can also create at a children’s art yard. All ages are invited to dance to live music on two different stages or graze local foods from restaurant carts.
The fair will be held August 16th from 10am-5pm and is free with plenty of free parking and shuttles running throughout the day.

WILDFLOWERS OF WISCONSIN MURAL
See The Wildflowers of Wisconsin before it's gone! This beautiful fiber art installation of oversized crocheted flora native to Wisconsin, was created by Madison Public Art Project and installed at the McKee Farms Park tennis courts in the Fall of 2024. Madison Public Art Project commissioned the artist Kiersten Darling to create the flowers for this project, assisted by Sapphira Afifi and Karen Jahns. The community was invited to help crochet the individual flowers that are incorporated into the final artistic composition. The mural will only be a part of the community temporarily, though, and will come down later this season.
The Wildflowers of Wisconsin aims to encourage individuals to rethink their own consumption habits and look at reducing, reusing, recycling, upcycling, foraging, composting, and encouraging pollinator friendly gardening spaces. This public art project raises awareness about climate change and encourages greater stewardship of the land, inspiring individuals who participated and visitors to act after coming together and experiencing this dynamic installation.
