Get out and golf

Golfers, it’s time to get out there and hit the links! Nine Springs Golf & Disc Course, a beautiful golf course located in the heart of Fitchburg, is open for the season and the nine hole par 30 layout provides playability for the novice, yet still has enough hazards to challenge even the most skilled players. Disc golfers pay a flat rate of $5 and play all day!

The Legend At Bergamont is another great option for golfers in the area. Located just outside of Fitchburg, The Legend at Bergamont hosts a 7,330 yard 18 hole Championship Golf Course, designed by two time US Open Champion, Andy North. The Legend at Bergamont was recognized as one of Golf Digest's Top 10 New Courses in America 2006.

Fitchburg on Two-Wheels

If you're looking to explore our local bike trails this spring, Fitchburg is the perfect biking hub, and a great place to start. Designated a Silver Level Bicycle Friendly Community by the League of American Bicyclists, Fitchburg features two mountain bike trails and five recreational rides, three of which are state trails. The roads winding through Fitchburg to other Wisconsin destinations, like Paoli or New Glarus are popular for everyone from weekend travelers to Ironmen and women in training. Be sure to veer off the trails and visit some local restaurants and breweries!

The Perfect Picnic

Plan the perfect spring-time picnic at one of Fitchburg's beautiful parks. Easy to access by bike or car, Seminole Glen Park is centrally located in Fitchburg and is a great spot to enjoy the warm weather. With a basketball court, playground, volleyball court and wooded walking paths, there’s a place for everyone to play. Another local favorite is McKee Farms Park, home to the Kids’ Crossing Dream Playground, the Fitchburg Splash Pad and many events throughout the warm weather months. The Kids’ Crossing Dream Playground is a large play equipment area with slides, bridges, monkey bars and lots to explore. The park is also home to a baseball field, basketball court, tennis courts, volleyball area and more. Be sure to stop and see the Bike The 'Burg Bucky!

Hy-Vee has everything you need for a stress-free outdoor meal, including fried chicken, potato salad, sub sandwiches, cookies and cupcakes. Of course, a picnic's not complete without the beverages! Craft breweries like Hop Haus Brewing Company has 6 packs ready to go, and Delta Beer Lab has 4 packs available for pick-up, too. You can also grab a ready-to-drink old fashioned from Yahara Bay Distillers.
