One of Fitchburg’s annual traditions is Oktoberfest at Quivey’s Grove every September. This year, you can create your own Oktoberfest at home, while supporting our local businesses. Find your favorite polka band, throw some brats on the grill and get this party started!
Authentic German Brats at Bavaria Sausage
When it comes to traditional German sausages, Bavaria Sausage is as authentic as it gets. Their sausages are made locally and always gluten free. Their entire store is online, but you’ll find the most popular Oktoberfest items in their own category. There’s everything you need for your backyard Oktoberfest, including beer steins, decorations, varieties of Kraut, and of course, bratwursts!
Fox Heritage Farm To Your Table
New to Fitchburg’s Food Scene this year is Heritage BBQ & To-Go. Their website lets you easily order their popular barbecue to-go, but you can also shop for bratwursts while you’re there. Bratwursts come in packs of 4 from Fox Heritage Farms, located in Prairie Du Sac, Wisconsin. The pork used to create these delicious sausages are sustainably sourced and antibiotic and hormone-free.
Inspired Desserts At
Rolling Pin Bakeshop
Save room for dessert! The perfect Oktoberfest cake is waiting for you at Rolling Pin Bakeshop. Rolling Pin offers an impressive variety of specialty cakes, including German Chocolate Cake with buttery coconut pecan filling and dark chocolate buttercream frosting. Another classic is their Black Forest cake, a chocolate sponge filled with real whipped cream and sour cherries with kirsch. If you’re looking for something other than cake, they also offer German Chocolate cookies!
Local Oktoberfest Brews
The Fitchburg area is home to some great craft breweries, several of whom feature seasonal Oktoberfest beers. Capital Brewery’s Oktoberfest can be found in local stores and is the “mother of all seasonal beers” with rich malty overtones that dominate the flavor. Hop Haus Brewing Co., Delta Beer Lab, Great Dane Brewing Company and The Hop Garden also have seasonal beers that are available for pick-up. You can find brews from The Great Dane at local stores, as well.
