For 20 years, Oak Bank has served the Fitchburg community. Not only as a financial institution but also as a neighbor and partner. To mark the milestone, Oak Bank celebrated by handing out face masks and giving away gift cards to local businesses as a token of their appreciation.
“It wasn’t the celebration we had planned, but seeing the clients lined up in the drive up before we opened and the steady stream of cars all day long, was a fun way to mark the occasion,” said Bob Gorsuch, Oak Bank Founder & CEO.
“Clients seemed to really enjoy the in-person, but socially distant greeting when they came by the drive-up lanes,” said Jim McNulty, Senior Vice President, Business Banking. “We personally thanked everyone, masked-up, of course.”
Since 2000, Oak Bank has strengthened its roots in the community by fostering a welcoming environment where talented and caring people go to work each day. The inclusive banking culture fosters relationships, which make clients feel more like family than a bank account number.
“When a client calls on the phone, we want that person to feel like they are calling a friend. We want everyone to feel like they are a member of the Oak Bank family,” said Terry Taylor, Oak Bank President.
Giving back comes naturally for Oak Bank. Every year, Oak Bank donates resources and talent to over 125 local nonprofits, and they’ve given away more than 24,500 pounds of pumpkins (so far) to local families at their annual Great Pumpkin Giveaway. “As a community bank, we have a duty to help our neighbors live their best lives,” said Gorsuch.
Their 20th anniversary celebration was embraced with a steady flow of vehicles passing through their drive-up Friday, with an estimated 400 people stopping by to receive their gift cards and face masks.
Oak Bank has continued their involvement in the Madison community with their partnership in this year’s Books for Educators Book Drive benefitting the Madison Reading Project. The bank encourages visiting them in Fitchburg to drop off book donations now through September 1st.
