Join the Fitchburg Chamber, Madison Area Builder's Association(MABA), and Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County for this month's Business Before Nine (BB9). Learn about the new McKenzie Regional Workforce Center that will be located in Fitchburg. It is focused on providing young adults careers in skilled trades like plumbing and construction. This will create generational change within families and help diversify what historically has been a largely white, male workforce. The Center will be an active partnership between Madison Area Builders Association (MABA) and the Club plus other local businesses and schools. Skilled trades programming is expected to begin in 2022 after the building undergoes renovations. Education, training, certification, apprenticeships, and job placement will be available to young adults.
For our March 2022 Business Before Nine we welcome MadREP's President & CEO, Jason Fields. Jason joined MadREP in January of 2021. Fields brings a background in finance and served for 12 years over two separate stints in the Wisconsin State Assembly representing Milwaukee in the 11th Assembly District. He will lead MadREP through completing Advance Now 2.0, the Madison region’s comprehensive economic development strategy. MadREP will continue to support the region’s growth by connecting businesses with the resources they need to stay open safely while continuing to prioritize and grow the local pool of skilled talent. He is thrilled to discuss the vision, goals, victories and partnerships MadREP has for our region.
For our February 2022 Business Before Nine we welcome Edgewood College's Athletic Director, Al Brisak. Edgewood College is planning the development of a Wellness Campus at the Southwest Corner of Lacy Road and Seminole Highway in Fitchburg.
