Grow Something New This Spring

Spring is the perfect time to start growing something new. Fitchburg Farms is helping community members kick off the season with Seed Starting 101, a hands-on workshop designed to teach the basics of growing plants from seed. Participants will learn about soil selection, seed care, and troubleshooting common gardening challenges, and will leave with a seedling tray and seed varieties ready to grow at home.

Give Back Through Community Cleanup & Recycling

The City of Fitchburg continues to lead important sustainability initiatives this spring through both its Spring Recycling Day Event and Waterway Cleanup Day. These efforts give residents the opportunity to responsibly dispose of hard-to-recycle items and help protect Fitchburg’s waterways through community cleanup efforts.

Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin is making it easier to recycle electronics responsibly through its Free Electronics Recycling Donation Drive, providing an accessible way for the community to safely dispose of old devices while supporting reuse and waste reduction efforts.

This family-friendly Earth Day event will feature more than 20 organizations focused on sustainability and conservation, along with hands-on activities, clean energy resources, a Repair Café, tree giveaways, live music, art, and free kites. It’s a wonderful example of community collaboration and environmental education happening right here in Fitchburg.
